Happy Saturday everyone!!

I hope that Thanksgiving found you well and happy, and I hope that you didn't eat too much turkey.  Yes, we did.  Turkey dinner, turkey sandwiches, turkey, turkey, turkey!  I enjoy it, more than when I was a kid ~ but I am glad that it only comes once a year.  Now Danielle is bugging us to get out the Christmas decorations and put the tree up.  She's really excited.  This is the 1st year that she has had a job and money to spend of her own on Christmas.  She already has a floor full of wrapped presents in her bedroom ~ that's probably why she wants the tree up so she can have room in there again Ü

I know that the other day I mentioned that I would show you the apron box I made, then I didn't.  I am sorry.  Holiday stuff got in the way, you can understand.  I am here today to show it to you.  Ready???
The base box is Cherry Cobbler (lve that color!!) and I covered it with paper from the Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack.  I inked one of the cuppy cakes from the Cupcake wheel and colored it in with my markers then punched it out with my 1 1/4" circle punch, adhered it to a 1 3/8" circle punched piece in Cherry Cobbler and then to a scallop circle punched piece out of Chocolate Chip card stock.  The ribbon that I used was 5/8" satin ribbon, lve that stuff too!!

I stamped the recipe cards with my "From the Kitchen of" stamp set on to white card stock then I adhered them to a piece of Chocolate Chip card stock.  I know that it is using more card stock than needed, but I thought that the extra piece would make it a little more stable and I think that it looks nice.  The last card that you see pictured is a little kitchen prayer that was in my Mother's cookbook that I thought was nice ~ I added Cherry Cobbler card stock to the back of that one so I can tell that it is different from the others.

I was thinking of offering this as a kit complete with instructions, what do you think?  I think that it is perfect for those holiday cookie exchanges - or the holiday pot luck's that we all have at work.  If you are interested just leave me a comment and I'll get back to you.

This is all I have for you today.  I know that I will be working next week so I won't be on the computer til late in the day - but I will be getting back to you all.  Have a super great weekend!Photobucket

Apron boxes

Good Monday to everyone ~ I hope that the weekend was a good one for you.  I spent my Saturday at Grace Christian Church here in Georgetown.  They were having a Christmas Bazaar and I rented a space there to peddle my wares...  It was a nice afternoon and I met a lot of very nice people, and that's always nice!

I told you that I'd be back to show you some of the things that I was working on - so here I go.  This is something that I made a couple of weeks ago and I posted it at the bazaar - I'm thinking of holding a class on this.  It would be perfect to do for the holiday season when people are having cookie exchanges, don't you think??
It is a little apron box.  The box is hard to see in the back because of the ribbon, but it's there.  It coordinates with the stamp From the Kitchen of set.  If your interested in the stamp set below you can order it at my online shop HERE.
So if you are interested in a class let me know.  I will also be offering these class kits by mail too!

Tomorrow I will show you another set with the recipe cards also ~ so make sure that you come back and check those out too Ü

Wishing you all a super great day!Photobucket

Holiday Lineup

Good afternoon everyone, I told you I'd post here today.  There is something that I'd love to show you - images from the Holiday Line Up set.  I can remember one person saying to me (no Betty, I won't mention your name) that this set was ugly.  Ahem, and then she asked me to stamp some images for her Ü  I think that they are just adorable!!

So are we ready?  You want the deets?  Here we go...
The base card is Poppy Parade that I layered with Handsome Hunter (miss that color) and Whisper White.  I just cut the layers and adhered them together.  I stamped the image from Holiday Lineup and colored them in with my markers and layered them on to the card.  This card was an easy peasy one.
I think that this card was just as simple.  When you've got to make a pile of cards it's nice to have a few that go quick and easy and this is one of them.  I stamped the image from Holiday Lineup on a piece of Creamy Caramel in black ink and only colored in a couple of things.  I then took my white white gel pen and colored in the eyes, I think that it gives them a little more of a surprised, dramatic effect ~ don't you?  The base card is Real Red that I layered with Basic Black and a piece of Creamy Caramel that I ran thru the cuttlebug with my snowflake embossing folder.  I layered the image panel on top and I was complete.  Told ya, quick and simple.

I hope that these cards inspired you.  And if you'd like to create cards with these images visit my on line store to shop Ü  If you have any questions you are always free to email me or give me a call ~ I'd love to hear from you!

Aviary

When I received my starter kit this is one of the set's that I got - the Aviary set.  I really did not think too much about it until Danielle mentioned that I can do something with a cupcake and this set (I will show that later) and then it sold me Ü of course!

So now I will show you what I came up with.
I stamped the image from the Aviary set with Early Espresso ink on white card stock and stamped it again on a piece of scrap paper with a Pumpkin Pie bird in the cage.  I cut that one out and added it with pop dots over the other image.  The base card is Whisper White that I layered with some Pear Pizzazz and Poppy Parade Designer Series Paper.  I also used some Poppy Parade and Daffodil Delight card stock.  The sentiment is from Whimsical Words that I stamped on white card stock with Early Espresso ink and layered on to a piece of Poppy Parade that I punched out with my Decorative Label punch.  I think that it turned out cute, how about you?

Tell me what you think?  I know that I am just getting this blog up and running ~ and it is a huge chore to do.  But is there something that you'd like to see?  Something that you'd like me to share?  Just leave your comments - I look at each and every one of  them - and let me know.

Until tomorrow, have a super great day!

Santa's Drawer's SU! Style

Hello everyone ~ I've got a little something cute to show you tonight.  Yesterday on SCS they had a tutorial for what they called "Santa's Drawer's" and the minute I saw it I knew that I just had to do it.  But I did not really make it for Christmas ~ I instead made mine for a birthday or celebration gift.

Ready?  Here it is...
Ok, first let me say I am not color blind ~ but for some reason I thought that Melon Mambo and More Mustard looked ok together.  I still think so ~ call me crazy!

I followed the directions given on SCS to make the box.  Believe it or not there is no tape that is used on this box or the drawers.  The way you fold it keeps it together, cool huh?  I took a sheet of More Mustard and used that for the base.  I then used some of the Designer Series paper in Melon Mambo for the drawers.  I punched out scrap of the More Mustard with my 1/2" circle punch and placed a crystal brad thru the center to use as my "drawer pulls".  I took a plate from my Hodge Podge Hardware kit (yes, this is last years plate, I don't have this years set yet) and added that to the long bottom drawer.  I had stamped the cuppy cake from the Party Hearty set in with Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie markers and punched that out with my 1 3/8" circle punch and added it to a piece of More Mustard that was punched out with my scallop circle punch.  I also stamped another cuppy cake top and pop dotted it over the top of that one.  The scallop circle I paper pierced and then added a some dots of the Shimmer Paint to it for a little more umph...  I then adhered it to the top corner of the Top Note die that I cut out of More Mustard and layered with more Melon Mambo DP.  Once it was all put together I ran a length of 5/8" grosgrain ribbon around the box and added a "faux" bow to it and I was complete.

Remember to take a peek at my previous post about the special that Stampin' Up is offering right now - and there is a little special from me too if you place an order.

I hope that this inspires you somehow - I think I just might make another tonight, we'll see.  Have a super great evening!
